Reading Levels

At Manning Oaks Elementary, we use the BAS reading test to determine a student's reading level. At the middle of the year it is expected that all first grade students should be reading at a level H. At the end of the year they should read at a level J.

Please note that the level your student receives is the level they can independently read at. This means that they can also read books below that level on their own, and books 1-2 levels higher with help. If you would like to look up a book level, use this link and type in the name of a book.
